This intricately designed structure is actually a parking garage located in Miami Beach, Florida. The structure is designed by Swiss architect Herzog & de Meuron and can approximately park 300 automobiles. Lotus Temple

This beautifully structured temple is located in New Delhi, India, and was built in 1986. This piece of architecture is inspired by the beauty of the lotus flower and is mostly constructed of marble, cement, dolomite, and sand.  The lotus temple have won numerous architectural awards and featured in many magazines for the past decade. The temple is surrounded by nine ponds which appears to make as if the lotus is floating in the pond. Source: History in World

Millau Viaduct

Millau Viaduct, is a cable stayed bridge built across the valley of the River Tarn near Millau in Southern France. This master piece were designed by British architect Lord Foster in collaboration with French bridge engineer  Michel Virlogeux. Millau Viaduct is the tallest vehicular bridge in the world with one piers summit at 1,180 ft, only slightly taller than the Eiffel Tower and 132 ft shorter than the empire state building! 

Marina City

Marina City is a composition of residential/commercial building complex located in Chicago, Illinois, United States. The structure is composed of two tall corn-cob shaped 65 story towers. This famous complex is designed by Bertrand Goldberg in 1959 and took 5 years for the construction to be completed. London City Hall

London City Hall, also know as the headquarters of the Greater London Authority(GLA). This phenomenal structure is located near the Tower Bridge of London, in Great Britain. The structure is designed by Norman Foster and the construction was complete in July 2002. The building’s unusual shape is is intended to reduce its surface area for energy efficiency. 

Guggenheim Museum Bilbao

I have a feeling that I’ve done this post before in the past but I couldn’t find it in my blog, but I am just going to post it again just in case. The Guggenheim Museum Bilbao is a museum of contemporary and modern art, designed by Frank Gehry. The museum is located in Bilbao, Spain. Great Mosque of Damascus

The Great Mosque of Damascus, also known as Umayyad Mosque, is a stone mosque built between 705 AD and 715 AD located in the old city of Damascus, Syria. The mosque was built to dedicate John the Baptist (Yahya) after  the Arab had conquered Damascus in 634 AD. The mosque holds a shrine which still contains John the Baptist’s head today!
