The Petronas Towers is located in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It is among the tallest buildings in the world. The two towers have been called cosmic pillars that spiral heavenward. The building has 88 stories and is completed in 1998.
The Sydney Opera House is a multi-performance arts centre in Sydney, Australia. The structure was built and designed by a Danish architect named Jorn Utzon; the project was completed in 1973. Here’s a little fun fact about the Opera House, the unique design of the roof top is referred to as “shells.”
The Empire State Building is an American cultural icon in New York. It’s a 102 story skyscraper and it stood as the world’s tallest building for 40 years! The Empire State Building was designed by William F. Lamb. I know this is kind of sad but over the course of the years, more than 30 people committed suicide on top of the building.
Ok, I am pretty sure everybody knows this one. The Eiffel tower is located in Paris, France. It’s nicknamed the iron lady. The tower was completed in 1889 and it has became both a cultural of France and also one of the most famous structures around the globe today. The tower stands 1050 ft high and was designed and built by Gustave Eiffel. Good job Mr. Eiffel!
This bridge was built during the 19th century in Great Britain when the east end of London became very populated. People decided that a bridge was needed to be built. Over 50 designs were submitted for consideration at that time and boy am I glad that this stunning design was chosen!! 🙂 It looks almost like a castle.
